Chewing Tobacco

So basically i’ve been packin lips for about 3-4 months now. I just read about the health risks of it and they were a lot worse then i thought. The idea of getting a tumor in the back of my throat scared the balls out of me so i just ordered non tobacco, non nicotine snuff. I love packin lips just because its relaxing. Anyway apparently there are no health risks with using this stuff, hopefully this is true. Have you heard of any health risks with using non tobacco, non nicotine snuff?

Sounds ridiculous. Start using sunflower seeds

I never knew a single woman who thought a lip full of shit was sexy.

Oh well… to each his own.
Good luck with your oral fixation.

In all sincerity, BroLac… you’ve got a decent physique. Focus on your strengths. There are many other HEALTHY ways to relax.

Jerking off to lesbian porn is a good one, unless you shoot yourself in the eye.

I would read up on Swedish snus. It’s damn hard to kick a nicotine addiction. Swedish snus is much safer than American dip. American dip is laden with chemicals. Swedish snus is a food grade product regulated by the Swedish government. It’s been used for hundreds of years in Sweden, who have the lowest cancer rate in all of Europe.

Try this forum - www.snuson.com. Also, you don’t spit either, and portions are clean and discreet. You can opt for the loose route too.

I like snus. But there is something about fresh Copehagen that is very powerful.

I haven’t had any Copenhagen in over 3 years…my life is so much better…breathe easier…breath smells better…teeth are whiter…dick gets harder…but…I’d still go back to chewing a can a day if I could.

non nicotine dip wont give you the relaxing feeling you are looking for, but if you like the appeal of havin a pinch in it will do the trick.

I’ve been meaning to look into the mint snuff pouches. I’m a big gum chewer but my jaw hurts after a while, especially while coaching. (long story involving a 5 wood)

Good for you on quitting brolac, that stuff’s pretty rough. My coach is trying to get us all to give it up, but we’ve got a bit of financial incentive here too. Canadian 34gm tins…16 bucks a pop…

The non-tobacco stuff is fine. I think its mostly just mint leaves and something to keep it moist. a jar of mint leaf is much cheaper though. I’m using that now, as part of cutting back on dip.

Starting by rotating a real dip w/ mint leaf, then working down til its dip far less often. It might be easier to try and wean yourself from it instead of cold turkey.

There’s a dip alternative called Blue Whale that uses nicotine infused tea leaves with a tobacco flavoring extract. Might be worth looking into.

wow dude thats a long time. Did you face any problems with using it that long or are u alright?

How old are you? Was this news to you that tobacco causes cancer?
Besides you’ve been doing it for a few months, its okay, you’ll be fine.
I grew up around it. I’ve been using tobacco for 10 years now, worst thing I ever did as a kid.

I’m doing good with the quitting, a lot of anxiety but have meds to help with that otherwise it’s not that bad but I really wanted to quit so that helps.

Using a proven carcinogen for 17 years is not going to be good for you. I dont care what you think.

I knew a guy in Thailand who had been dipping since he was a teen (and he was 38) and when his supply of dip ran out (since he couldnt buy any in Thailand) he started smoking cigarettes right away. Nicotine is serious shit.

Ah man, back when I was playing hockey… Everybody was usin chew. I honestly thought it was disgusting, walking around with a bottle of brown shit in it.
Oh man, I tried it… puked like crazy.

Good times.

Oh No! Not Cigarettes!

I don’t get what the big deal is distinguishing between different tobacco products. Either you’re using them or your not. Drop the whole “Oh, I do dip or black & milds but I’d NEVER smoke unfiltered cigarettes” crap. Stop splitting hairs.

I know a guy who drinks around 16 beers a week, smokes pot 1 or 2 times a week, and only eats 2 meals a day. Pretty average college kid if you get right down to it.

He keeps this up regardless of whether he’s in season or not. He acts like he cares about his athletic performance, but he doesn’t let meets or practice effect what he’s going to do after 9 o’clock.

But for some reason he’s really against people smoking cigarettes. Even though he smokes Black & Milds after he gets high. But that’s okay because it’s a cigar, and you don’t inhale cigars.

Yeah, right. What’s going to have more damage 20 years down the road? Drinking heavily, eating nothing but fried eggs & tacos, and smoking black & milds and pot on a weekly basis or smoking cigarettes and having a beer or two on the weekends?

I don’t care if you smoke cigars, smoke cigarettes, chew dip, or drop $40 for the gum. I had a Steakhouse Burger, a Guinness, and a Dr. Pepper last night. That’s probably as bad as 1 cigarette. I’m not hear to preach.

But don’t kid yourself about what you’re doing by splitting hairs and saying to yourself “Well at least what I’m doing isn’t as bad as this or that.” It’s just as ridiculous as people who smoke or snort heroin claiming that at least they don’t inject the heroin.

Truth be told things such as dirty needles(and STDs), abscesses(and infections), and embolisms that one can encounter doing heroin intravenously are avoided by snorting it.

Same applies to tobacco products. Dip and chew will not contribute significantly to lung cancer, but your risk of oral cancers(relative to smoking even) is increased exponentially. Oral cancer tends to respond better to treatment as it’s usually detected earlier(visible lesions inside mouth). Lung cancer has a much lower survival rate. So, while a chronic dipper may lose part of his jaw, technically he has a lower statistical risk of dying than the heavy cigarette smoker.
