Can anyone recommend a good piece of software (preferably free) that will allow me to burn my CDs to Mp3? I’m trying to consolidate my music collection for travelling. Thanks.
For one that will make quality copies you are going to have to spend some money. Google CD Burning Sfotware and you should be able to find what you are after.

Windows Media Player also rips. You probably already have it and it is tuneable (different qualities, etc).
Just “copy from cd”.
iTunes from Apple. Can burn, categorize, rate songs, CDDB lookups, etc.
Thanks,
Fei
MusicMatch Jukebox is great. Windows Media Player is also free, but it’s like Big Brother. Tracks everything you ever do with your music and sends that info to Microsoft. Also, if you try to use your MP3s on another computer, Windows Media Player will make you jump through transferring-rights hoops each time. It will only let you store them on one computer at a time until you transfer the rights to another computer.
