Does anyone know what causes the pain from cramps?
To explain: not while the muscle is actually cramping, but afterward. I got a cramp in my calf today that lasted only 1 second, but hours later and I can still barely walk on it.
Why does the muscle hurt so long after it cramps, i.e., what is causing the pain?
I can understand if it was one of those 30 second marathon cramps, but this was just for a split second.
Anyone know the science behind it?

Maybe you injured it. No way to know from here, but sounds like it could be a tear.
