Cartliage in back hinder muscle growth?

I haven’t seen a Dr about this but have noticed that I can feel loose cartilage in my back . it hasn’t affected my workouts as of yet and there is no noticable pain. It’s more annoying than anything else. Will this have an effect on muscle growth? I know I should just see a Doc but I dread the visit. thanks
