Cardio Days On Russian Squat Program

I have just started the “Russian Squat Program” where it has you squatting 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I’d like to do cardio 2-3 times a week and was just wondering when it would be optimal to do cardio during this program so it doesn’t hinder my progress. For cardio I will usually do either 2 speed days, 1 long distance day OR 1 speed day, and 2 long distance days.

While I’m not CT, The squat program is quite a bit of volume on the legs so your cardio should probably take a back seat lest it hinder recovery. My suggestion would be to switch to 2 or 3 days of walking, instead of speed or long distance or maybe some jump rope.

Why not do som cardio exercises using your arms more?

Rowing or any other machine incorporating the arms…
