Carb Cycling for Rookies

any advice for a newb carb cycler? I’ve been on Paleo and AD the last 3 yrs so Im pretty sensitive to carbs but Im considering trying it just to pack on some lean mass and shed a lil fat. It seems very sciency and hard to do but maybe I just cant see the forest from the trees.

Eat more carbs on training days than you do on non-training days.

That’s the gist of it. All the details are individual - how much carbs do you want/need, your eating style, etc.

Start slow: add 20-30 grams of carbs to each day every week or so and see how you adjust to it. Don’t bother starting out carb cycling if you were very low carb, just have higher carbs on workout days via pre/intra/post workout nutrition.

Thib’s protocol for carb cycling is worth the read: http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/the_carb_cycling_codex

I have been following Thib’s codex and it works pretty well. Just stay paelo diet except for during and immediately after workouts . Are there carbs you know you handle better than others?
