Can't Look at T-Nation at Work!

No, he’s saying that the censorship is arbitrary and capricious. Completely illegitimate sites are allowed through, while sites with at least some educational value are blocked.
I agree here. No such sites should be viewed during school hours.
If I had a young son or daughter who happened to walk in on you while you were gazing at the pics I’d make sure you were fired.

You’d “make sure,” huh? Big man. Are you the superintendent of schools? No? Oh.
Big man? Ha ha…I’m a tax payer and thus have the right to visit the school board and discuss Mr. Teachers activities. If enough parents felt as I do he would be out of job.
There are plenty of other sites that you can look at while on school premises. Besides it’s not you, I believe that your interests are sincere, it’s the other coach down the hall who will see your privilege and take it a step further.

WTF does that even mean? If you can’t craft a clear usage policy, don’t provide internet access.
It’s easy to all who are literate. Don’t allow sites that display scantily dressed females etc.

Wow that was easy.
The school is right, you’re wrong now move on.

Again, what does this even mean?
Um, it means that the school was right and he’s wrong.

In this one instance the school is right. And I commend them for taking such a stand.

Oh sure, he can whine all he wants. It’s even sort of healthy… for most women…LOL

IT just allowed T-Nation through the filter. So now I can get on and look at the articles. As for making sure that I’m fired if I were looking at PI or something, I don’t really care because I’m not gonna be looking at it at work.
I just spoke with your principal and I think your right might get revoked.

LOL

You might want to sue all the parents who let their kids go to school showing more skin than you’ll find in the PI’s.
I love these sorts of arguments.

"Since an entirely separate issue is allowed then we might just as well allow this to happen.

LOL

Same shit argument.

Then according to your argument above we should allow porn to be shown in school and also during prime time.

Good one shit head.

No. You’re wrong.

Unless you equate a picture that is found on this site, or any non-adult magazine to equal to porn.

So there’s “porn” in all of the magazines you can look through at your local grocery store check-out line?

You’re not too bright.

Oh, so now the wills of others are involved in the process? That’s progress, I suppose.

Don’t question my literacy when you aren’t even answering the question I asked. You said that you are worried about “the coach down the hall who will see your privilege and take it a step further.” What does that mean? Going to playboy? Looking at the SI swimsuit online edition? If you can’t stand “scantily clad women” on a website accessible from school, then internet access should probably just be turned off entirely. Even advertisements on otherwise innocuous sites have women in bikinis.

While your school may have prohibited the viewing of ankles, it obviously did not teach you that you should not define a word or phrase by using the same word or phrase.

Did they “take a stand?” Or did the IT department unilaterally decide that this site was unacceptable? Or do they just get their blacklists from a third party?

Right, you’re either with us or against us. Good attitude.

Look simple simon, this was your quote:

My response was, then why not show porn? The human body is beautiful right?

It’s all a matter of context. Many things are acceptable under the proper circumstances.

Your latest argument is also a shitty one.

Get it through your thick head that a school is not a check out line at a grocery store, or a movie theater.

Bone head.
nephorm wrote:

Too late.

I don’t think school is a good place for any of those sites.

As long as it’s not allowed I don’t care how they reached the conclusion. Now on a different issue I might have a different response.

Ha ha…I never said that. But women do tend to carry on like that don’t they?

Name calling isn’t a very good way to argue your point.

I learned this lesson in 8th grade when I had a bad attitude problem. Fortunately for me, I grew out of it.

It looks like you didn’t really read what I had to say, and you’re not going to listen to anything else I say, so I’ll just agree to disagree with you.

I hope for your sake, you’re able to put your prejudices aside, find a better way to take out your aggressions and live a happy, healthy life.

You just made a quadruple post on an internet forum arguing about this guy being able to see T-Nation at a school.

Women are the ones who argue every single point you make.

Not every post is a personal attack on you and requires you to comment on every paragraph.

We heard your opinion, and we either care or we don’t. You’re not changing anything.

He sounds like one of those parents who raised hell because their kids saw greek statues of naked people at the museum. So much for “progress”.

I’ve not read too much of your “argument”; it may be a goodone, it may not.

You should not, however, question Nephorn’s intelligence. He’s one of the smarter members of this community.

I’m also a tax payer and I would 100% want my child’s football coach and physed teachers to read T-Nation.

edders you need to get a life

Right, because we all know that teenagers are good little boys and girls who listen to their parents, and if parents tell them not to do or look at “naughty things” they’ll obey unconditional. It’s not like making something taboo might actually peak their curiosity and make them do these things anyway.

I recall one post way back where a poster wrote that he got laid more at Bible camp than at his high school where they handed out condoms. Yep, keeping teenagers in the darl about sex and the human body is extremely effective.

Wow Edders, you have one of the worst attitudes I have seen in a while.

harris447: Thanks, man.

Edders: You’ve got a handful of posts on this site, and you’re already attacking veteran members (and I’m not talking about myself). Maybe you should reevaluate your approach.

You have a good life too.

Sorry you think that. But I feel passionate about this issue. Maybe on another thread we might agree. Keep an open mind.

You can defend your point with emotion. You can defend your point with facts. But don’t try to defend it by claiming some sort of seniority, that’s lame.
