Hi people I’m getting ready for my first powerlifting meet and I was thinking if its okay or not to max out 4 weeks before the meet to see if I can hit my new PB?
Why bother with the meet then?
I would say you’ll be fine as long as you don’t hit a super grinder or miss, just see how everything feels
What @bigmanfootball67 said but I usually go for a smooth moving 1-2 rep for my last pull about 7-10 days out. NO GRINDING REPS

Part of that depends on what sort of weight you’re lifting. bigger the absolute weight, the longer of a taper you’re going to need.

I agree with a smooth single that makes you feel the weight, no grinders
