Calories Burned w/ X-Vest?

Is there a simple way to calculate calories burned while walking with an X-Vest versus no weight? I use an X-Vest weighted with 30 lbs to go for a 40 minute brisk walk first thing in the AM while on the Velocity Diet, but don’t really have an accurate handle on how much I’m actually burning up.

I’m confused as to why you’re even worried.

The V-diet is such a low calorie diet I would hope that IF ANYTHING you would be worried about burning too many calories as opposed to too few. Secondly, I’m fairly sure that while on the v-diet you will be risking a lot of muscle mass waking up and doing steady state cardio vascular work (presumably) on an empty stomach (but then again what stomach isn’t an empty stomach on the v-diet anyways?).

I’d advise that you try something like interval sprints to do what you can to prevent burning away muscle. Also out of my own curiosity are you lifting while on the v-diet?
