Calorie Guide

I have been having problems counting calories. I usually eat in the cafeteria at school(college) and there really isn’t much info on what I’m eating.

I found this site. Is it any good/accurate?

looks fairly accurate.
You may want to take a gander at http://www.nutritiondata.com/

You may also want to take a simple approach. Check out Berardi’s Seven Habits

Don’t freak out over wether or not your fat intake is exact. Eat lots of veggies and meat. Eat some fruit and keep high gi carbs like sugar and white bread to a minimum. Eat a lot at breakfast and periworkout. Keep dinner to veggies, meat, and fat. And most importantly. STAY CONSISTENT.(training and nutrition-wise).

p.s. pre- and post- nutrion are very important. And the best time for a “cheat” meal is an hour or so after hard training. Just a tip. BTW do need to lean down or are looking to pack on muscle?

Thanks for the advice. Here is a post I put on another thread:

“So I’m 6’0” and 230 pounds. I have been going to the gym recently to get in the habit of the lifestyle again. I have been eating clean for about 2 months now and feel I have a good control over my eating habits. Haven’t touched a soda in two months.

Anyway, through all the massive eating threads and workout programs, I have one question rattling in my head. I just feel I need a solid plan now.

I do not have a clue as to what my body fat is. (It’s not good though) I do have some pictures I could post though if it would help get a better idea. Should I focus on getting as much muscle gains as possible right now, or should I try to cut a lot of fat off and then worry about getting bigger?

This is the most confusing thing to me as a newbie. Like I said, I have been in the gym and have been going through the motions getting back into the lifestyle. I feel I am ready to move it up a notch to set some goals."

6’ and 230lbs eh? If your confused about what you goals shoul be, ask some more questions.

Do you want to compete at some point? Bodybuilding? Wrestling? Powerlifting?

If you don’t know you may want to do the G-Flux thing and eat a maintenance calorie diet while training. Results are slow but gradually you will get leaner and stay around the same weight. Just keep the poundages your moving going up.
