Cadence/Count

Is there a cadence or count during your hypertrophy/fat-loss hypertrophy training plans? My current workout plan has me at a cadence of 3 seconds down and fire up on every rep.

That’s fine. I personally rarely use specific tempo recommendations because if you focus on counting (tempo and rep count) you cannot focus as much on the quality of the muscle contraction or on giving a maximal muscle effort.

I only use a specific tempo prescription when it’s part of a special method. With regular lifting I prefer basic recommendations like “control on the way down and explode on the way up”, or "slow on the way down and squeeze hard on the way up).

Personally I never count the tempo of my lifts.
