Cables Quad Work

Im just curious about 2 movements involving the quads and cables.

The first is the lateral leg lift and the second is the cable split squat…i tried them both today and really liked them. Anyone here do them?

I do the lateral leg thing as part of my warm up before squatting, never tried the cable split squat though.

Is it part of an actual warm up or do you use it as most use leg extensions to prefatigue?

That is what i am planning on doing.

I’ve done it as part of my actual warm up. It gets my medial (I think) glutes firing and makes my knees feel good when squatting.

I’ve dropped it recently because I can do a better job of doing that with things like lying clams, fire hydrants etc. My entire squat warm up centres around glute activation.

I’ve fucked about quite a bit with cables, trying things like adding resistance to cables and other weird shit like that.

why are you using cables for the SS and not just good ole dumbells?
