The Bush-Cheney reelection campaign has sent a detailed plan of action to religious volunteers across the country asking them to turn over church directories to the campaign, distribute issue guides in their churches and persuade their pastors to hold voter registration drives.[/quote]

Maybe instead of the membership directories he should just ask them to send him the contributions every Sunday. Save them all the postage and phone calls begging church members for money.

Um…is this somehow different from the Dems going around to Black churches every 2 to 4 years and telling them how to vote? If Bush & Co. went around speaking on conservative issues in mainstream churches you can bet your big black Bible the ACLU would be all over it with a (ficticious) first amendment lawsuit before you could recite John 3:16. Hey man, ya gotta go where your support is. Guess that’s why the Dems need to go out and schlep up the homeless, felons and the deceased. Not a big Bush supporter here, just an observation.

good reply bandgeek. my thoughts exactly.

Good reply, but you forgot illegal aliens, which is particularly problematic in California and the other border states.

Ahh, my bad. Thanks for catching it

There is a big difference between showing up on Sunday and making a speech (Democrats) and writing to churches you’ve never even set foot in, and asking them to supply you with their mailing lists (GOP)

It’s borderline illegal to do that and I believe it is being investigated. One of the several investigations of illegal activity by Republicans. Another example is that Bush’s campaign chairman for the Southeast (Ralph Reed) is now being investigated for a money laundering scheme with Indian casinos.

YES they ARE getting desperate!

Isn’t it great? LOL

what’s really sad is that you guys are focusing on the bad areas of each party. why don’t you guys act mature and think about what each party will do for the US and base your vote on that rather and dissing the opposing party?

what’s mudslinging accomplish? nothing…unless your uneducated (aka stupid)

sorry if i come off as harsh…but it’s true
