Bush: Most-Fit President in History

Not to stray too far off topic…who am I kidding…What is ‘myrhh’ Has anyone ever smelled it?

Evidently it was some pretty high dollar stuff back in the day. [/quote]

That was like the Dolce & Gabbana of bible day cologne, man. Jesus was pimped out in it before he could walk. It was like having an Escalade with spinners on your feet. Women would use their hair to wipe off any excess.

My guess is, it was a little better than that Axe body spray.

Zeb,

I encourage the ABBers to show their true colors.

If they cannot acknowledge the dedication it takes to get in that sort of shape, then you are getting a crystal clear view into their world.

I say, “beat the grass and see what the snakes do.”

I have to admit, I did read poxs’/jealous canadians’ responses. My reasoning: To see if they had learned anything/earned any sort of response from me in the future.

Had they not so clearly shown their irrational ABB selves, I was thinking about congratulating them on their growth.

I DO think this belongs right in the middle of the Politics forum. It is a crystal clear litmus test for the depths of hatred these clowns feel for W.

If they cannot acknowledge W’s physical prowess on TESTOSTERONE there is NO WAY you are going to get these clowns to change ANY of their thinking.

I suggest that you treat them the way that I do: silence.

What is with you all and the inability to let the last election go? “ABBers”? That would imply that there was someone else other than Bush who is an option. He is the president! There is no one BUT Bush for the next 3 years. It would seem that the only ones stuck in the past are the few of you who can’t let the last election gop…as if you are afraid your position as head cheerleader will be taken by someone else.

I’m sorry, but his weight room accomplishments just don’t mean much to me as a president. I am much more concerned with whether any more troops will die today than whether he can bench 220.

Basically I applaud Bush’s fitness as a man. But I find it highly irrelevent to anything political whatsoever. “Bush (or any oher politician of any party for that matter) takes giant shit.” “Bush (or insert politican of your choice) runs 5 minute mile and does 400 lb squat.” Both pieces of info would mean about the same to me in the scheme of things.

Jerffy,

If Bush was a “mere man”, his accomplishments as outlined here would be good, but really, who’d care?

Cheesecake,

I doubt if anyone is surprised that you are not interested in physical fitness.

Long live Dunkin’ Donuts!

Weak. Unlike you, dear hidden one, most here have seen what I look like as recently as last week. that is what pm’s are for. I know for a fact that we never see you, however…which is very telling.

If ever there were an example of how liberals have been conditioned to condemn all things Bush, this is it. Guy posts about a man’s well above average fitness level, and here on a web site that purports to be about bodybuilding, weight training, and maintaining good health, STILL they find a need to attack the man. Yet if this post were about Clinton getting tail while eating McCheeseburgers they’d be lining up to sing his praises. I’m not even a hard line conservative and this sort of thing offends me.

I suppose it’s due more to the intellectual laziness that gives birth to this sort of reaction than it is the reaction itself. You signed up to be a Cowboy because your mommy and daddy are Cowboys, now it’s your duty to condemn all things Indian because mommy and daddy could never be wrong. And it’s an insult to you personally whenever somebody disagrees with mommy and daddy or whoever your political role model was growing up. Quick, tune in to Al Franken’s talk show so he can tell you how to think. Oh that’s right, even liberals won’t sit through that crap.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeesus.

Every other thread on this site is a frickin’ war zone!

Chris:

Well said…it’s simply pure hatred and indeed very telling!

What a bunch of retards. Nobody has really had anything negative to say about Bush at all.

I’m sure we are all happy he is fit and normal physically and all that.

However, this is the politics forum. This thread is just another pathetic attempt to show how great the hero Bush really is compared to mere mortals.

Those of you decrying so called ABB’ers really need to think about this. What the hell are you attacking people for, nobody has attacked your hero, the president, at all.

They’ve merely wondered if perhaps he has an 800lb bench or 900lb deadlift or maybe a 1000lb squat that we haven’t heard about lately. I mean, has he done something truly amazing that should be impressive?

He’s fit. He’s human. Yawn. Other than being your hero, it’s not very much to get all excited about.

Dorks.

One more time for the haters:

The information in the article below about John Kerry is quite impressive. No, I didn’t vote for him, and I will never vote for him…But, I have to admit that this guy has some incredible endurance.

"The ultra-fit Kerry takes part in lots of sports but has impressed many with his marathon bike rides in tough conditions.
Kerry isn’t just a 12-mile RAGBRAI rider (fellow democratic contender Howard Dean pedalled just a short distance in the famous US ride, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) he’s a long-distance specialist.

The 60-year old senator from Boston rides many charity events. In August, he finished the 110-mile Pan-Massachusetts Challenge as 37th of 3000 riders.

Senator Edward Kennedy was amazed when on one freezing winter day his friend turned up at Chez Kennedy, blue from the cold.

“It was the end of the coldest ride I have ever had,” Kerry told Sports Illustrated magazine.

“It was a [charity] ride from Boston to the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport – about 80 miles or so. [Three-time Tour de France winner] Greg Lemond was riding [with us] and he said it was the worst conditions he’d seen for bicycling. But, you know, it was a challenge. I liked that. There was no way I was going to quit.”

Burley’s international sales manager Val Hoyle witnessed Kerry’s stamina and doggedness at first hand:

“That day was the coldest for a charity bike ride I can remember. We were all freezing and most people, even experienced riders, didn’t finish the ride. But John Kerry was adamant he would finish, and he did. I was really impressed by that.”

A soccer player (he learned of the JFK assassination whilst playing a game) and endurance windsurfer, Kerry had an operation for prostate cancer last year and his doctors put his rapid recovery down to his strength and fitness."

Sure you can hate the guy…but what’s the point? Can’t we just see these guys as people once in a while? And these people are 60 (or very close) and in incredible shape.

The take home message should be, if these guys can do it with their very busy schedules then so can we!

My father is in his mid 50’s and recently had a physical done.

He’s 6’, 185 and recently lost about 20 lbs just from “eating less”. He smokes about a pack and a half of cigarettes a day, yet his physical showed that his blood pressure was right where it should be (lower than what the doctor thought), his bf% is also lower than the “average” 55-59 year old, and his stress test (on a treadmill) showed him to be in “great shape”.

His philosophy on exercise is that he walked and ran enough when he was younger. He never worked out, and still thinks all fat and too much protein (more than the USRDA) is bad.

But good for him being above the 99% of the people that were counted in the poll that was used in the original post.

Now how many people here would give my father props for his physical results?

Point being, on a bodybuilding website, where there are many people who know a heck of a lot more than most self-proclaimed nutritionists, and even a lot of personal trainers, nurses and doctors, why would someone believe that Bush should be given praise for being in DECENT shape compared to the AVERAGE American his age?

Oh, and I’m a registered Republican and I don’t like politicians in general, actually I don’t like politics either, that’s why I usually don’t post in the politics section.

Anyway, great job to my father, eh?

On the contrary, I think it’s damn cool that our president gives a shit about his health, finds time to train 6 days per week, and is setting a positive example. Why that’s yawnworthy is beyond me, but you’re entitled to your opinion.

The fact is you felt compelled to inform everyone that this information bored you. To me that speaks more to your need to minimize the man’s accomplishments than the first post speaks to the original poster’s desire to idolize Bush, but I suppose that’s my opinion also.

I have to agree with JeffR here. Man I think Bush is a lousy leader and really don’t like him or his policies but I wouls still have to give it up and commend him on at the very least of setting a good example in a nation of fatties. This post does belong in another forum though.

One other question. Is Cream a real person? He seems like a 12 year old child in each post–freakin pointless every time

Just a sec - didn’t conservatives take every opportunity to bash Clinton when given a chance?

I’m just sayin’…

Very true. Kerry’s physical feats are impressive to me. So are Bush’s. I just happen to think they both belong in the Off-Topic section. And neither have any relevance to either man politically. But it’s not that big a deal. It happens to have been originally posted in the Politics section. Oh, well. We just all need to lighten up!

I think the only reason that people were getting a little upset is that the thread was placed in the Politics section perhaps with the implication that Bush’s physical fitness somehow makes him a good or better leader. Which I don’t think is true. The qualities that lead someone to commit to being fit may potentially contribute to being a leader. But it becomes obsolete when we have their actions and statements to base our opinions on directly. This applies to Republican and Democrat politicians. Everyone should applaud a committment to fitness especially at that age. I think everyone here does.

jsbrook wrote:

I missed that part. Would you show me where someone said that it makes him a better leader?

The fact that the most irrational of the ABBers are illustrating the depths of their hatred IS USEFUL. It belongs in the political forum. Had big-mac-bill been such a physical specimen, does anyone doubt these same ABBers would be singing his praises?

I’d like to join in singing the praises of kerry’s dedication to physical fitness (not including windsurfing!!!).

I think he is a total fraud and a symptom of the things that are wrong in the democratic party.

However, he has earned my respect from a physical standpoint.

This thread clearly demonstrates to the Conservatives who is worth arguing with. It also allows the lefties the opportunity to distance themselves from the “party before principle” group.

I couldn’t disagree more with some of you, this is a great thread.

JeffR

Yes, of course, he’s fit, kudos to the man.

However, clue provision for the politically blind…

A post in the POLITICS FORUM titled “Bush: Most-Fit President in History” is certainly a little bit of hero worship.

Nobody has said negative things about the president, but the Bush worshippers have to cry foul when nobody cares, instead of realizing that they are engaging in blatant and childish hero worship.

Congratulations on your fair and balanced interpretation of events…
