3/25/19- Deadlifts
(Low on sleep & food today, what a piss poor way to enter a deadlift session)
Deadlifts-
135lbs/62kg x5
225lbs/102kg x1
255lbs/115kg x2
315lbs/142kg x1
335lbs/152kg x1
355lbs/161kg x5
375lbs/170kg x2x3
405lbs/185kg x2
430lbs/195kg x2x1
(Was supposed to be 430lbs/195kg x2x2 but had barely any calories in me and didn’t get enough sleep. Gonna have to start upping calories on deadlift days from now on. Becoming much much more demanding. While I’m not happy with missing the reps, I still think it was pretty cool to pull 2 singles under my old 1RM after building to it with the heavy triples and the double beforehand.)

Deficit Deadlifts- 255lbs x12

Accessory Work
Hover Pause RDL’s- (Beltless)
Bar x20
135lbs/62kg x5
185lbs/84kg x5
225lbs/102kg x3x5
(Body was not having the volume today)

Cut it there because I could feel my body getting beat to shit by the set on RDL’s. Ended the session with a PR on Pull-ups. BW x12.

Whats your max deadlift?
How much more weeks till the 505?

I believe I have 3 or 4 more weeks until I go for 505. Heaviest I’ll pull before then 5-10lb PR at 455lbs in the next week or 2 I believe.

Dang getting close.

Woo! Hit 200lbs/97kg on the dot this morning!
I still feel very athletic. Not dissatisfied with my body comp, and also feel well conditioned. Gonna try to add on to this a tiny bit more before nationals but I feel great right now. Once I’m done with nationals probably just gonna get back to 200 and maintain there.

Mark Rippetoe called. He said that you’re now a grown male. I, along with my other underweight and emaciated peers, must be skinny-shamed and force-fed whole milk while watching propaganda videos about how our razor-abzzz are worth nothing without an ice chest to put them in. Ideally, these videos will be watched in the 10 minutes rest we must take in between each of our grindy sets of 215 x 5 x 3 Squats.

Edited to mention that these videos will be playing on the floor, so that we are also forced to look down. @T3hPwnisher did I forget anything?

Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn I am not that much heavier than you. 200 was a really satisfying barrier for me to hit, because I had so much trouble adding the last 5 lbs.

Other notes on training right now: Form is really clicking for me on everything right now. I’ve been visualizing all my cues and practicing them in the air (When I’m alone so people don’t thing I’m crazy) and it’s helped me so much in building my technique. My last bench session I feel like I finally benched correctly. Log was my other piece that I finally feel like it clicked. Deadlift I think I have a few more refinements before I’ll be happy with my technique. Squats also need some refining but it’s definitely getting there soon.
Visualizing and practicing everything over and over and over on top of actual heavy gym lifts has done so many wonders for me.

Damn dude, You’re miles ahead of me. My technique sucks shit on everything and I don’t have a clue on what works and what doesnt. Can’t wait to get online programming so my training isnt so uselees

Thanks man, I’m maybe a few meters ahead of you brother. Once that form clicks for you, I’m gonna have to kick my ass into Extra High Gear.

3/30/19- Event Day
Pre-Fatigue Circuit- x2 Rounds
1.Seated DB Press- 45lbs/20kg x36, 60lbs/27kg x13
2.Lateral Plate Raises- 10lbs/4.5kg x25, 23
3.Band Face-pulls- x30, x30

Log Clean & Jerk- (Done in under 20min)
Empty Log x3
160lbs/72kg x3
180lbs/81kg x3
200lbs/90kg x5x3
(Felt Good, Shoulder fatigue made it rough to stabilize but I gotta make these log presses as hard as possible)

Farmers Walks- (Had to substitute for yoke)
110lbs/49kg x100ft/30m
200lbs/90kg x5x50ft (Beltess and done in 5-step drills)
250lbs/113kg x100ft/30m (Full run, Belt on, RIP my upper Back, Also Distance PR)

Stone Loads to 52in/132cm
240lbs/108kg x2x1
240lbs/108kg x2 (PR)
Finally a stone PR, they moved stupidly fast, didn’t want to push super hard on them though.

Keg Toss. 35lbs/15kg x15 (Managed to throw these what I’d estimate about 10ft/3m each time. Some higher some lower but not by much, 5lbs over Nationals weight but with a keg)

Thanks guys. This has honestly been some of my hardest prep work. I’ve been going straight from school, to work, to the gym and then to sleep. Cut out all hype from my lifts which has by far been the hardest part about all this, calm cool and collected has never been my training training energy but I need it to be so come around comp time I can reward myself with going a little crazy. On top of this I’ve tossed out probably hanging with my friends until comp which sucks horse nuts. Getting those compliments means a lot to me, thank you guys.

3/31/19- Next weekend I’ll be on my way to Kemah TX to compete at my qualifier. Pretty excited seeing as it will be my first competition. Gonna compete in Novices, wanted to compete in men’s but Chris Vacchio said to compete in a Novice Class to qualify for Teen’s.
It will go as follows.

  1. Max Wagon Wheel Deadlift
  2. Press Medley, 180# Axle, 200# Log, 95# CDB Press
  3. Yoke/Farmers Medley- 550# Yoke x50’, 200# Farmers x50’ back
  4. Stone Over bar for Max reps with #150 stone
  5. Truck Pull x50’

Nothing too crazy or daunting in this comp. Feel confident, I’m just gonna go have some fun.

Those are some decent weights for novice!

315lbs/142kg x1
335lbs/150kg x1
