Wow, I would so love to do frame carries. Every time I think of doing trap bar carries, the thought of the loading and unloading stops me cold!

Christian Thibadeau mentioned somewhere, sometime, that grip strength can be a good indicator of CNS strength/fatigue.

Punnyguy!!! I KNOW! Its a total and complete pain in the ass loading the trap bar and the farmer’s handles! This frame is sweet! As for the grip, for sure I think that’s true.

Getting there with the range of motion on my hip. These zerchers were the first I’ve done at my normal rom since who knows how long, well before my hip messed up. I am tinkering with my wake up times too since I now can get up a bit later to get gym in before work.

I BARELY got up today and that is unusual for me, traditionally I’m excited and ready to see what I can do for each gym day however its been hard to get motivated the last chunk of last weeks.

Intermittently wresting with lack of drive, frustrated with performance, weakness, feeling loss of oomph, whatever we all go through I guess. I also feel like I can eat a house all day long. Oh well. Here’s to just plowing on.

I see you are working as hard as always. All my respect. You have added more walking, are you starting to change your routine or just general health?

400 lbs frame carries; that didn’t take you long ::))…And, I see your adding weight into the shield carry too, because it isn’t quite Brute-ish enough anymore

Strong work as always.

Thanks Idaho! I really appreciate it!

The walking is for stress relief --it calms me down a ton. Its done wonders for me in the past and doesn’t adversely affect anything no matter how far I end up going, Puts me in a good frame of mind.

I DO have a couple wt’d vests though that come out in the winter which is aimed more for conditioning then stress relief! Those bastards are tough! One way to keep warm when its cold!

Thanks Z! :)!!!

I’m at that time where ALLLLLLLLLLL I want to do is carries. I don’t wanna do any reps! I don’t wanna do anything but carries! HA!

I noticed today my right knee wants to cave on EVERY THING. EVERYTHING- even stuff like getting my shoes from the floor !! Its regular stuff and not limited to lifts. I have no idea where I picked this up but I have to guess it was to accommodate some kind of past injury or some kind of work thing. Its slightly easier to courtesy then to bend all the way down?? AH HA HA!

So its a huge project! Correcting it is a constant process. It made me feel better because I’m pretty much learning stuff all over again every stupid time! So its going to be lame for a while. OH well.

I did this in the past with relearning back squats. I eventually got it down but f&ckin hell its annoying.

Are you training for streght only or also muscular gains too?

Have you seen your body changing much as you increased the weights?

Awesome diary!

Best!

Thanks trtoldman!
My goals for lifting are mostly for strength gains but my lifting over the years has become more my own wild thing. I find stuff I like and rock them out as much as I can because I really do have fun doing it that way. I know I don’t always do things I should, or the way I should , or the smartest way…or fill in the blank. I spoil myself with this hobby of mine–I lift for me!

Right now I am in limbo mode. Relearning while kinda still injured :{

As for body changes-- the one thing that really changed my body composition is wt’d carries which I feel made my frame just more muscular in general. Carries are also so straight forward I know I am doing them right. Pull ups gave me lats too!

Speaking of Diary, Dear DIARY!!
Lately I’m having a crisis of confidence and feel like a lazy person and like I’ve become a blob. It could be real and I’ve pudged up, it could be my mind playing tricks on me but I’m struggling with this. Non related to my body shape but my own abilities–I have felt on the verge of tears training more often then I’d like to report. And a shorter temper all around which really is NOT me :frowning:

I do feel a bit lost and out of control. Much of that can be the frustrations of relearning my go-to pick me up ( my lifting feeling like I’m doing everything wrong) and my wild hip injury that is still going on, flare up of old past shit, and I do really miss having a dog! BLEH!!!

I know I am incredibility lucky. But the darkness has slid over me a bit… such is being a human…bleh.

Brute losing a dog is tough, i remember when you first got moss you were leaning out from all the long walks with him. Your bleh lifting is very inspiring to people like me that let work, kids, etc… keep them from the gym. Its all about balance, you will find yours again. Now to shove my dogs around to make a spot for myself to sleep. Great training as always.

Well, I often wondered, when I see you doing your liftings, if you might/could hurt yourself with those loads, it´s quite amazing!

Yesterday I saw a film, probably you already saw it, the name is “Megan Leavy”, it´s a very nice movie, about the relationship of a woman and her dog. I don´t know if I should recommend it to you (because it might help) or not (because it might make you sad)…

Anyway, you are a young person with all your life to happen in front of you. Talk to the ones you know that love you and share your fears/doubts with them (family, friends), and see if any of this could help you! (I know is pretty basic)

All the best and sorry if I sounded iincorrect, English is not my languaje and it was not intended!

Warmest regards!

Scotto!!! :)!!! Thank you! I really appreciate it! That dog got me through some significant personal shit- leaning out being just the tip of the giant iceberg. I’m lucky I had him and… Thank you for remembering that! Makes his spirit live on!!! Really, thank you for that

trtoldman! Thank you! I do have tons to be thankful for and am healthy which is wealthy beyond words. And I have a lot of really quality people in my life too who care. It can be embarrassing but I know they understand.
