I broke my jaw in a hockey game and my mouth is going to be wired shut for over a month. do you guys have any recommendations on how to acually still gain weight. I was thinking of downing 10 shakes a day for a total of 4000 calories, will this work or do I need actual food to grow or maintain?

The shakes may be your best option. Most of the quality ones are “real food” these days. Blend them with cottage cheese, healthy oils, fruit, stuff like that for variety and to get all your bases covered.
I would say that adding flax oil to some or all of your shakes will help you get the calories up along with all the other benefits that flax oil gives.
