Well, I'd say at 20 years old you have nothing to lose. Any total you could get would simply be a starting point for the next meet to better.
Unfortunately, at 35, I'm in a different boat! haha...
I've been watching the totals, and I agree; I don't want to show up and use the other guys warm up bar for my 3rd attempts. But at the same time, bombing would be the worst, so a very conservative-light opening would be needed.
My currents are 445 DL, 295 BP, and 340 squat (yes, I can't figure out why my squat hasn't caught up. needs work). I'm just under 200 lbs, so I could probably lean up slightly and go down a class.
If I can get the day off work, I'd like to get some totals in just to say I did. Have you practiced in gear? I don't use a dead lift suit, but have used a IPF "ok" squat and bench. Not a big difference in the numbers, but i don't train with them regularly.
