Brisks' Fighter Log

Ok, i’m setting this log up to try keep myself more accountable to my training, I don’t have a training partner now so hopefully if I know you lot are watching my progress ill keep working hard and pressing fowards.

Outline
The main reason for this training to try and become better at my kickboxing and Judo. I train both and think physical conditioning is the keystone to being good at sport orietated martial arts. My

Long Term Goals
-To weigh 90kg with 10% body fat
-Squat 180kg
-Bench 135kg
-Deadlift at least 180kg

Current Objectives (Set 4th May 2008)
-Make sure my lifting technique is near perfect
-Continue To Gain weight
-Continue To Gain strength

Ill update every 4 weeks.

I wont bother posting all my training since I dont do cardio and my weight training is the only measurable one. My weight training Is:

Mon
Squats 5x5
Bench Press 5x5
Bent Over Rows 5x5
Barbell Curls 3x8
Tricep Extensions 3x8
3 sets of twisted sit ups
3 sets of hypers

Wed
5x5 Squats
5x5 Deadlifts
5x5 Military Press

Fri
Squats 5x5
Bench Press 5x5
Bent Over Rows 5x5
Barbell Curls 3x8
Tricep Extensions 3x8
3 sets of twisted sit ups
3 sets of hypers

My stats as of 4th May are:
Height 5ft 10
Weight 75kg
BF 10.5% (roughly)
Squat 77.5kg
Deadlift 80kg
Bench Press 65kg (smith)

My stats as of 31st May are:
Height 5ft 10
Weight 78kg
BF 10.5% (roughly)
Squat 92.5kg
Deadlift 95kg
Bench Press 77.5kg

Just to quickly say I changed the way I was doing my 5x5, before I was doing 5 sets all at the same weight after warming up, towards the end of these four weeks I started ramping up the weight each set.

Goals for next four weeks:

  1. Tighten up my diet with only one cheat day a week.
  2. Get deadlift form much better.
  3. Get bench press to 85kg
  4. Get Squat to 100kg

Any comments on progress? Is it good or bad?

Height 5ft 10
Weight 78kg
BF 10.5% (roughly)
Squat 97.5kg
Deadlift 95kg
Bench Press 80kg

Not happy with these four weeks at all, i’ve been slacking off and not eating properly. Lift gains have been shit. I know where I’ve gone wrong though, not eating enough, not making workouts intense enough and not going to the gym when I should have.

Goals for enxt four weeks.
Keep a food diary for a week
Continue to Work on deadlift
Becnh 85kg
Squat 105kg
Deadlift 100kg
Reach 80kg
