Bone Growth

Not to sound stupid here, but I was always under the assumption that heavy-ass lifting had an influence on bone size, particulary around the wrists and ankles (ie-they get bigger). Also, I thought the GH had an effect on bone growth as well. I did a bunch of searches for studies on the subjects, but was unable to find what I was looking for.

Please guide me in the right direction.

Heavy lifting affects bone density but not growth, I believe. Also the HGH won’t help your bones grow if your growth plates are already fused.

Not sure of the studies, but I know for sure about the effects of lifting heavy shit and bone DENSITY. I’m almost positive that you won’t be able to measure an increase in bone size, but they will definetly become more dense and stronger.

Hmmm… I think lifting only has a positive effect on bone density. I think most bone growth in an adult would be a bad thing.

Thanks for the answers, those were exactly what this person at work was saying. I just didn’t believe them. I guess that means I lost the argument.
