Made is look so easy.

That was amazing. How crazy is it that the world record bench is higher than the world record dead?

That’s because equipment doesn’t help very much (or at all for some people) in the DL, but extreme bench shirts can easily add 20% or more.[/quote]

I understand the why, it’s the bottom line that gets me. And no matter what anyone says it’s a testament to that the gear is getting out of control.

I wonder how much he could pull with straps

This isn’t a gear debate man. It was a great lift, just celebrate it. I am sure the PL watch thread will spiral down that road, so give it a day then jump in on the next “gear v. raw” thread.

If you want to bitch about gear, go find another thread. ( http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding_strength/gear_is_for_cheaters?pageNo=0#2927564 ) Don’t shit on a thread about Bolton and his 1000+ pound deadlift.

Agreed.

If you have an issue with equipment, go break some equipped records while raw.

Go away troll.

I wonder what Bolton will attempt next. Hopefully he’ll get it bench high enough to crack a 3000 total. Will 2009 be the year?

Not to mention that the WR bench is held by a bench specialist. The highest full meet bench is well under the WR deadlift.

I love how people who don’t compete and will never compete in powerlifting tend to be the most vocal critics of equipment. Think the gear is out of hand? Then don’t lift in it and don’t pay attention to it.

There are raw federations and divisions for a reason, if you have such a massive issue with equipment, then compete raw and shut up about it. Of course, I suppose that’s asking a bit much since most of the people whining about gear don’t actually compete.

That being said, that was an awesome pull by Bolton. It will be interesting to see what goes down if/when the SHW showdown ever happens.

While we are talking about big deadlifts, Chuck Fought is apparently dropping to 275…curious to see if he can keep making the sort of progress he has been making (750 to 900 in about 2 years) at his lighter body weight and catch Benni, Konstantinovs, and maybe even Bolton.

Im not even that big into powerlifting as a sport but i dont understand why people complain about gear when there raw fed’s. How do people not see it as two separate leagues or two separate sports.

One is for lifting in gear and the other is for lifting in raw. No body is saying that they are remotely comparable.

The few times ive benched in a shirt I realized one thing, it’s totally different than raw bench. Like comparing apples and oranges. Both fruits, but not the same at all.

The lift is impressive gear or not just to hold onto that fucker.

For those of us who strive to move big weight, that is humbling and fucking inspirational.

That makes me want to go to the gym and DL for an hour.

A little off topic but are there any top DL’ers that use hook grip? I didn’t see Bolton doing it but he could have. Probably a novice question but still a question.

Wow, there are alot of whiney bitches crying about what I said. It wasn’t intended to take away from Bolton’s accomplishment, it was pointing out fact. Bolton’s lift is in no way dimminished by a suit. Shit, I don’t give a fuck if he had a hydraulic lift helping him out, that was insane.

Andy Bolton could rip a small child in half.

If it makes you feel better, I wouldn’t expect anything different from you.

Monster. Looked easier than his 1003.

He should switch to sumo and reduce is ROM, coulda pulled more.
(dripping with sarcasm)

I’m disappointed he had his nose stopped up. The only thing that woulda made that better is some blood trickling down his face.

I was kinda surprised no one had yet made a similar comment, so I thought I’d oblige.

Sick. Just amazing. I watch some of these lifts and my jaw drops so far I dribble snuff on my shirt.

if he does i hope it makes it to youtube.

that lift was mind blowing.

Yeah, looked easier than his previous 1003. Btw Skidmark, great avatar. Who’s in it?
