I never really got much out of it up until this point for whatever reason. Even now it may be some other factor causing me to feel the way I do, but the creatine is the only thing I’ve changed in a few weeks, so who knows?
It’d be worth it to give it a shot for a few weeks and see how you feel, IMO
I was not getting war fuzzy feelings before this one. Poor sleep this past week and very busy at work.
I almost convinced myself to bypass the widowmaker todaywhile under the bar. That’s the funny thing about squats though, once you’re down there, you gotta get back up. I gave myself no choice but to hit 20.
I’m finding it difficult to make time to go back and lift, but was able to sneak away for a bit today and get this in. It’s not much, but I don’t have much to give at this point. Super tired, stressed at work etc etc. I’m happy I’m still hitting 20 reps.
Took an update picture this morning. I’m still sitting at ~201-202 in the morning. Might have to lower cals a bit to get the scale to start moving again.
Our perspective on this stuff is so twisted. That is a damn god session and more than 99.9% of other people your age are doing. And this is with a new baby in the house. You are still bossing this stiff mate. Well done
Thanks Simo I appreciate that. I have just come to expect more from myself than what I’m able to give right now, and to be honest, it’s a little discouraging. I feel like my (slow) strength progress has stalled.
That’s the whole reason I’m aiming for fat loss right now. I can’t justify a gaining block so I’ll make progress in another way by losing fat. I just want to get stronger, though.
Maintaining or still building strength whilst cutting bf is exceptional stuff, so I wouldn’t be concerned on a ‘stall’ given BW and bf is dropping atm. Keep at it!
Right shoulder is becoming more and more of an issue. First few sets of squats are pretty painful and any sort of somewhat vertical pressing is as well. feels like there’s some shit grinding around in there. going to have to find a way to press.
I see what youre saying, I don’t have a swiss bar but I can stick with DBs and hold them in a neutral position, for sure.
I’ll try some different grips on squats too. Normally this isn’t an issue, but I think with squatting every time I’m lifting it’s starting to bother me.
Don’t forget about jamming one end of the barbell in the corner and doing the Landmine Press. It’s easy on your shoulder and works all those little BS muscles under your shoulder without having to think about it much.
I tried to push my way through that shoulder pain and didn’t do myself any favors, still not quite right after like 5 months. Figure out the reason for the issue (I’m thinking I just have some imbalances) and try to fix those or it will just get worse.
Landmine press is a good call by Flats, that’s been in my rotation and doesn’t cause issues
This may be the case for me as well- I’ve noticed the bar sitting slightly off center during squatting lately. I’m not sure if it’s due to losing weight (less cushion in the joints?) Or I’m just squatting differently.
heel elevated close stance goblet squat, 24kg bell
3 sets, just squatted until i couldnt anymore
deadlift
135x5
225x5
315x1
405x1
best squat set was 375 for 5 a while ago at a higher bodyweight. I had another 3-5 in the tank today, so this is working for squats. I really did not have much confidence in the 20 rep set, but I’ll continue on with 290 next lifting day and see if I can get it done.
