Woke up this morning with my throat almost completely closed up. Took a covid test and it’s negative, but I still feel like shit.
I’m thinking it has to do with the job I did this weekend. I inhaled more dust in those 12 hours than ever in my life. I was blowing black garbage out of my face all day yesterday and this morning.
Has anyone ever had any experience with a neti-pot or sinus cleaning kit? I’ve never done it before but feel as though this is the perfect situation to use one. it feels like my sinuses are on fire.
I’ve used a neti pot, it seemed to help a little but make sure to get distilled water (iirc) because you can get some brain eating amoeba or some crazy science shit, if you don’t.
I started using one after I got a bunch of sinus infections. Turns out my nose has been broken so may times that my sinuses are all smashed up and can’t drain properly. It’s even difficult for me to use the neti-pot because it’s a struggle to get the water to run through. But it definitely helps keep the sinus infections away. I’ve never tried one of the new ones that has active suction. But I think it’s worth a try. Definitely use distilled water, and get it to a warm (but not hot) temperature.
@heretolog@SvenG@hillbillyk thanks fellas, I ended up buying one and using it (with distilled water) once yesterday and once today. It seems to temporarily help out, for sure.
Turns out I’m just straight up sick as fuck. Spent the past two days couch-ridden and slept the majority of the time. Woke up to drink some Metabolic Drive shakes and to make/eat dinner. On one hand, there is no better way to kick start weight loss than just not eating. On the other, I’m going to be feeling weak as hell coming back this week.

In all, took roughly 50 minutes. I am sweating my ass off. Those RP sets are seriously intense. Going to shoot for a Wednesday/Sunday schedule and hit some light (or medium…or heavy) conditioning in between.
Lifting belt is loosening up already. The carb bloat is gone… I’m super excited for this right now.
I really wasn’t into this today. Everything felt way heavier than it had any right to.
Still not feeling 100%. the head pressure during deadlifts was not fun, and I was evacuating head cheese every rest I had. Can’t wait to feel better.
I’ve been feeling super exhausted and sweaty lately. Not into it. I wonder if this is what it feels like to “get older”. If this is the new normal, I really am not a fan.
Also, a life update. I will be moving back to a service technician position at some point this spring. I really like the director position I am in right now, but I won’t be able to make it work with the baby coming and my wife not working. I’m going to be moving to a different company than I was at previously, but doing similar work. A few of the old customers moved over to the company I’m going to be working for. I’m honestly sort of excited to be up and around and moving constantly again. Initially I liked being at a desk for a few hours during the day, but it got old pretty quickly. I just like fixing shit.
25 mins of varying intensity on the bike, did a lot of high resistance standing pedaling. Did a few sets of upright DB rows and face pulls to try and get some blood in my shoulders and back/traps.
I am all kinds of sore today. Might be a combination of the lingering sickness and Widowmaker deadlifts. Sinuses are still pretty crappy and I’ve been having a hard time staying hydrated- I need to drink more water consistently throughout the day.
Also… put in my notice at work today. I’m very sad to have to leave, but it’s a necessity for the family. I’m going to make the best of it and give it my all.
Thanks Sven, it’s been less of a choice and more of a necessity, but the timeline just didn’t work out with the way life is going. I knew I always had a service technician job as a fallback. I’m hopeful that I can be better integrated into the new company.

About a minute after the squats everything went quiet and I had to sit for a minute. Pretty happy with the widowmaker set, other than actually doing it.
Still not back to 100% physically, but definitely on the mend. Might have a side job this weekend so it’s possible lifting will be pushed back to Sunday. We’ll see.
