Bodyfat distribution and dieting/training

I have heard some talk of customizing one’s dieting and training approaches depending on where they store their bodyfat. I would guess those that have an even fat distribution can get away with a lot more carbs and junk, those lean everywhere but the waistline need to watch carbs a bit more, and those with big hips and thighs really need to curtail the carbs…Anyone have any knowledge or insights on this topic??
