That’s what immediately sprung to mind, with Char there.
Heh, just kidding. I’m just bitter about him sleeping with more woment than me.
I’ve always thought about this by using a car analogy. What usually “ages” a car is the mileage on it. People think that a car with 100,000 is better than a car with 140,000 on it. The more active you are (calories ingested, etc.) the more mileage you tend to put on your body and the faster you age.
In addition to mileage, there’s also maintenance. Changing the oil, changing the air filters, etc. MOST PEOPLE don’t live their lives as fast as fit people (put less mileage on) but they also don’t maintain the body nearly as well. We’re very particular about eating the proper amounts of food and maintaining good nutrition. Sure, an aspect of having an elevated metabolism is that we’re placing out body under oxidative stress but I have one question.
Would you rather own a car with 140,000 miles on it, but perfectly maintained? Or would you rather have a car with 100,000 miles on it that’s never been maintained?
