Bodybuilders vs. Bench Press

I’ve heard more than a few times both here and from people in the gym that “bodybuilders don’t bench press” because of the risk of injury and long term stress on the shoulders, etc. If this is true, then what do bodybuilders do to build massive pectorals?

They bench press. Whoever told you otherwise was wrong.

True. Also, many begin on the bench press but then move to either dumbbell presses or machines. I don’t know why anyone would think ONLY the bench press causes muscle growth and strength increases.

Yeah HE is true! Once I got had a sticking point in benchpress max but I switch to HEAVY slow Dumbbell press and even though someone will start out with far less weight than a barbell, I believe the gains are alot more in strenght and size with Dumbbells. Therefore, I strongly believe adding dumbbell bench press and inclide to your program!
