OK, a coworker told me that Amsterdam fought their rat population an interesting way.
Take a little bit older rat and put them in a cage with baby rats and no food. Soon, cannibalism sets in and they eat the baby rats. They develop a taste for baby rats. They then set a bunch of these baby rat feeders out. I have yet to find a story supporting this but it does sound interesting.
