I am currently a 200 pound person who would like to stay at that body weight while improving my physique. I am also aware of good techniques to both gain muscle mass and lose fat. The problem is that they generally do not work at the same time. Is it possible to shape the mass that I have now into something leaner, while maintaining my current weight, or should I bulk up first, then lose the weight later?
if you lift heavy and consistently you will gain muscles and lean out in the process since more muscle burns more calories. You can even try keeping your rest periods short in between sets (e.g. 60 seconds). As you gain muscle and lose body fat your body weight should not change the much. Plus diets high in protein stimulate your body to burn more calories.
