BloodTest Results Aust

What was your TSH value before starting T4 medication?

I was at 8.3 after 2 months on 50mcg daily I was down to 3.5

I might have to bump my dose up to 75mcg daily.

So you will definitely need to bump your dosage up, unless you are resistant to T4 if your TSH value did not change since starting T4 meds.

-You didn’t mention you had been on T4 meds for 6 months until over a month after your first post–how are we supposed to help you if you don’t include vital information?
-You are too careless to post lab ranges for your bloodwork–hard to help you
-You didn’t get the needed thyroid tests you said you were going to (mostly ft3)–how are we supposed to help you?
-You are more concerned about having big pretty muscles than your health and using steroids while your health is deteriorating–how are we supposed to take your health seriously if you do not?
-You are sticking with a clueless doctor who is mistreating you because he’s a nice guy and sometimes doesn’t charge you–you can guess what my next statement will be…

It is hard to help those that do not bother to help themselves…

My First Blood Test was (Which Diagnosed me with Hyperthyroidism)
-TSH 12.63* mU/L (0.40-4.00)

Then about 3months on 50mcg Oroxone (Thyroxine
After 3 months Blood Test was
-TSH 9.00* mU/L (0.40-4.00)

3 Months Later (6months on Thyroixine) its now back at
-TSH 13.60* mU/L (0.40-4.00)

I went to a new doctor that did charge me and he said to bump it upto 100mcg, but im worried that it might affect my gains
I want the truth! Doctors fill heads up with… i asked my doctor about steroids and he gave me ALL the side effects (Roid rage, all this) and didn’t even mention the good things

Like you said iroczinoz, i do think i am resistant… why did it move down and then back up again?
I didnt think Resistance was a possibility

Were you using iodized salt or using vitamins with iodine [I hope]?

You are definitely Hypo not Hyper.

A problem you might have is that your body is not converting the T4 into T3.
You really need to get FT3 and rT3 checked and also include your reference ranges in your above post. You mention FT4 is 15 but what is the range on the blood sheet?

I don’t think you hamper results by taking extra T4 or T3 meds, but I am unsure to be honest. But by the looks of it, the T4 only meds are not doing you any real benefit and are not fixing your issue.

For others to give you help you will need to post up more detail regarding your blood test results ( ranges) and also ask for other tests that you did not get done.

Also quite possibly that the T4 meds are working but your thyroid condition has gone done hill even more and 50mcg is not helping enough. Without 50mcg T4 daily you might have a TSH value of 20.

So there are a few possibilities and you will most likely need more tests and keep and eye on it.

Also your low test at the beginning of the thread, I had no idea you were cycling.

Thanks alot for your help guys, you have opened my eyes up heaps

Everything i have posted up is all i have got.
My Test Levels at the beginning of the thread wasn’t on cycle… that was completely Natural Test
After i started EQ/Winny/Primo it went upto 22.1 and 600… and that still pretty low since im on a cycle.

I went to my doctor with a paper saying what tests you guys told me to get, he refused to get them done and said they were not needed.
I have tried 3 Doctors, 1 Free… 2 that i have paid for.

Family Doctors cannot help, Really do need a Specialist.

I was afraid of needles for a very long time (my whole life) my first blood test of intentions to get on Juice after i get my results done.

I think i might just book a Specialist (HRT Doctor?) Do they have a special name? like a dermatologist type thing.
All i know is that it will take 1-3Months to see them because all specialists are usually booked out.

Honestly speaking I would not bother seeing an endocrinologist. I saw one once a while back and did not get a very good vibe from it at all. They charge through the roof and I don’t see how they are any better than a switched on local GP.

I would try and find another GP. The way to go about is write down what tests you want and why you want them.

You have to back-up and explain to them why you want the tests you are asking for. They still might knock you back on a couple but for the most part since you are HYPO pretty much standard procedure to get:

FT3
FT4
TSH
Anti thyroid antibodies

read up on rT3 and write a note why you want this checked too.

Iodine and Cortisol might also be a good thing to get if you can.

Go in there with a systematic approach starting with you Thyroid issues and try get to the bottom of that.

On your blood test results you do not have column - Ref range ( 0.50 - 4.00) for example next to each test?

Where about in Australia are you?

Will do
I have got my Cortisol checked, was normal.

Will get FT3,FT4,TSH,Anti thyroid antibodies, rT3 and Iodine checked out!

Western Australia

Just wondering, Since nobody has answered this question.
If my thyroid was running normal, would my gains be better… compared to having Hypothyroidism?
This whole thing started when i started going to the gym 6days a week and eating amounts to put weight on but not seeing any muscle gain or tone.
I have tried 5x5, 3days a week, train less eat more, bulking… nothing seems to work. I get stronger but not gain muscle definition or size… My mate and I have been working out for nearly a year now, he trains 3days a week and i train 6 and he has changed heaps compared to me… and i am the one giving the routines.
This is why i thought my test was low, only 7.4, 174.
Its stressing me out so bad i am starting to loose my hair (Seriously) before i even cycled.

My Thyroid is a problem, i wake up every-morning screwed.
It takes a couple of hours to get normal (2hours of waking up i get really bad mood swings, not hungry, tired, headaches, fuzzy-eyes) and this is with 9+ hours of sleep…
It seems i need 12+ hours of sleep to be normal, The point were you cant get back to sleep…Thats when i feel normal.
When i went for my license when i was younger, I had to get up at 6:00am for a driving lesson… and The instructor gave me instructions and i was so braindead of what was going on he asked if i had amnesia…
I blame my thyroid for that one.

Well what I have seen so far with me is definite improvement in tone and muscle definition. I was always eating clean and never really could get extra lean. However now I have seen a pretty big improvement in that. Lost a fair bit of extra fat that I could never get rid of. Veins starting to come trough like they were when I was younger. So yes you will see a pretty big change in that regard. Will take a couple months though.

Have not seen any increase in strength to be honest though maybe because I am still Hypo and have just been told to double my dosage. But not sure it really helps with strength.

What it should help in is metabolism and thus I think might help digesting nutrients better etc… So you should see better gains. I think I have seen better gains since treating my Thyroid. Weight has stayed the same but I have lost shit loads of fat. So that means I have put on lean mass and got rid of fat. As soon as I start training abs again they will be popping in no time.

You will 100% feel better if you take care of that thyroid and get it treated.

If you are not using iodized salt, fix that problem. Some vitamins also contail iodine.

normal <> ideal

and what do you consider normal? the lab says 4-20 is normal for an 8am blood draw, so that could be normal, but we know that 15-20 is actually ideal.
