What are the optimum blood glucose levels, 80 for fasting and 90 after a meal? What is the lowest safe blood glucose level? I've read that anything above 50 is safe, but I've also read 70 is low. I use a glucose monitor, and lowest reading I've ever had has been 70.
Even though my blood glucose was 70, I felt like I had some signs of mild hypoglycemia. It might have just been a placebo effect, though. As long as my blood sugar is above 70 there is no chance of hypoglycemia, correct?
Also, what's the best way to raise blood sugar and keep it evevated. Sugar seems to work better than refined starches, maybe because carbs cause even more insulin to be secreted.
