I am considering giving blood for the first time in my life and was wondering if doing so effects workout performance or is in any way detrimental to my muscle building goals. Any precautions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Uh…I wouldn’t sweat it. Take in some carbs and protein (mostly carbs) after you donate though, before you go do anything strenuous.
When I was on the high school tennis team, I played some tennis after giving blood. It sucked. I was really dragging. It felt just like when you bonk. Though I felt much better the next day, I didn’t feel 100% until about three days later.
