Biking with Smoke in the Air

I live in an area where there are currently a lot of active wildfires. The air has been varying levels of smokey for at least a month now. Typically, I try to bike to work a few times a week. It’s about an 8 mile ride to work with some not so easy hills and a lot of roots coming up from the bike path, so it is vigorous cardio.

The smoke has lightened up yesterday and today, but still quite smokey outside. Is it a bad idea for me to ride my bike to work? I haven’t rode for a few weeks now.

There are active air quality warnings stating to not do vigorous activity outdoors if you’re sensitive to smoke.

I don’t think you’ll get a more qualified recommendation from any poster around here. Of course, you need to decide whether you’re sensitive and/or the way you bike counts as vigorous activity.
