looks like it!!

kazmaier did 410 in exibition in 1983 . his bes official is 886 pounds . i guess benni magnusson is king but he did his pulls with no big squats or bench before . jf caron used straps i think . how about deadlift suits for some of them .

and russia maxim podtynny did 412 .5 sumo . clean grip . in 1999 or so .brad gilligham is coming with big numbers too .

Raw or equipped?
Full Power meet or deadlift only?
Sanctioned meet or gym/exhibition lift?

Questions, questions. See how silly this is? Depending on the answers you’ll have different “rankings”. In the end its a useless exercise - all of these mofo-s are strong as an ox - learn from them and move your deadlift up!

gary frank-933lbs/422.5kg

mlekava000 is not far off the truth though … so many parameters could be taken in consideration . . we have straps deadlifts . deadlifts suits erector shirt . and juice or not …

i talked about kaz and pdtynny . they were already noted my apologies … i think doyle kenady is noted too .

Coan’s 901 was raw.

I am creeping closer and cloaser to that list…

Best pull on the entire list IMO.

Agreed. There were so many factors that went into it that made it completely awesome. He was only 220, he pulled raw, and he pulled sumo.

When did Terry pull 440?

EDIT to add:
Also, what is your source for this? Poundstone’s pull is inaccurate, as he has pulled over 900. That’s just one that leaps out at me.

Just not sure why this list combines strongman deadlifts - w straps and a hitch - and powerlifting deadlifts.

Terry’s 440 pull is on Youtube - i think it was done Jan 2011 in the gym.

I reckon Strongman pulls should be included (although indicated where the hitch is ridiculous) as long as they are done with normal size bars and plates. Giants Live 2011 they did use normal bars and plates and I was amazed how many were pulling way over 400 and more around 420, 430 mark (and 3 of them were Brits).

Source is just Youtube and googling such and such a name’s best pull.

Can’t find a list like this anywhere else and I think deadlift lends itself to it most bcos gear doesnt add an awful lot, the range of motion is always going to be the same etc etc

Tell me Poundstone’s best pull and I will update the list

Would be interesting to extend the list all the way down to 800lbs, and therefore could see where Storm the Beach really sits. But, it’s not really possible to get any kind of accuracy bcos the list of people over 800lbs across the past few decades must be vast compared to the over 900lbers - Id be interested to know who was the first man to break the 800lb barrier, and who broke 900lb. We all know it was Bolton broke the 1000.

Just watched Hollands’ pull again and it’s pretty amazing - no hitch, just straps, and done in a commercial gym environment

what dioes raw really mean when coan pulled 901 he did not have a suit but he was not clean either . regular style he pulled 887 . as his best .

Really? You’re going to pull the steroid card? What does it matter? Do you think that anybody else on that list is “clean?” Get real.

I can barely decipher that encrypted notation script he posted, so it doesn’t surprise me
