Big Bad Bench and Massive eating

Hello all, first let me thank people in advance for taking the time to reply to my message.
Mu current stats are bw approx 200lbs, Body fat approx 16%. As stated in the message line I am currently doing the big bad bench program, however and will also try to incorporate the massive eating program. The problem is that I remember reading if a person has a high amount of body fat, then undertaking the massive eating protocol will lead to more “fatness”. My goal is to increase my bench and at the same time put on some muscle. Is my thinking flawed? Should I utilize the “Don’t Diet guidelines” and lose some weight. Will going on a calorie restricted diet affect my strength and power gains? I would especially be interested in John Berardi’s comments.
