Biceps curls

When I do bicep curls, the only place I feel a pump is at the bottom of the bicep, near the elbow. Also the sides of the elbow REALLY pump up and explode out - measurably and visibly.

I have never really added any size to my bicep at all in the year I’ve been training. Do you think this means I’m still building up supporting tissues, or is that feeling normal?
