Bicep Pain

#1

I was doing a heavy set of brain crunches and when I was gone I had this horrible pain right under my bicep at the elbow ever time I made a curling movement and now it hurts when I hold any kind of weight help???!!!

I developed the same thing in my right bicep a couple months ago. Massage Therapy barely touches it, and there's no ART near me. I would also love to hear from anyone who has had this and overcome it.

A guy at my gymn experienced the same problem. He went to the doc, and it turned out a nerve or tendon had been pushed out of place. He figured this resulted from doing heavy preacher curls. Doc initially recommended a cortisone shot and surgery.

The lifter in question didn't want either one, so he stopped doing preachers (subbing concentration curls instead) and did a few therapeutic exercises the doc recommended, and he seems to be recovering. Doc also no longer recommends surgery.

My recommendation would be check in with your doc, see if you're having the same problem.

Hope this helps.

Dude, what the heck is a brain crunch? Is it like a skullcrusher. What does "when I was gone" mean? And have you ever heard of a run-on sentence? It's called a period, try using it sometime.

Yeah, "months ago." My doc offered a cortisone shot, which I turned down, preferring to go the MT/ice/stretching route. I spent 2-3 weeks trying to avoid use of the arm in the gym, as well.

Now, I'm doing Big Boy Basics, and the only moves it interferes with are Pulldowns and Curls. Oddly, Bent-over Rows, even though the bicep is working, do not trigger the pain. Also, Pull-ups with a palms-facing grip don't trigger the pain. So I've been compensating and getting around it while pursuing the other "home-made" remedies. This has reduced the aching.

Goldberg, I've done a search on the ART website, and there's no practitioner within hours of me.

Qtip is that the only thing you have to do is sit at home alone and flame someone that has a life and was in a hurry.I never post cause of assholes like you make this forum suck i was just looking for some help

black,

If you check my post history (like you would want to do this), I rarely flame (I think I only flamed NeilG), and I don't post that often here.

Maybe my post came out sounding like a flame and a little too sarcastic (the internet tends to do this, devoid all comments of context). Basically, I just thought it was real funny that I had no idea what the heck you were talking about, and everyone else seemed to understand you.

I really want to know, what the heck is a brain crunch? And your post just seemed confusing, yet everyone else seemed to understand it. Is this some language that only I don't understand?

Note: There is no ill intent in this post. And you still need to learn to write. Stated matter-of-fact, not sarcastically or insultingly.
