No. If you have a big gap, you just have one. I really don’t even see what the problem is here. This would be like making posts because you aren’t tall enough…or because your parents were Asian instead of Eskimo. You can’t change your genetic make up. While working your forearm can create more impressive forearms and may even take attention away from the area, there is still going to be a gap there.
And guess what…no one ever lost a bodybuilding contest because they have a larger “gap”.
Build big enough arms and no one is going to care.
Fair enough. I have about a half inch “gap” as I test it right here. Would that be considered “small”?
P.S.- X man you gotta relax a bit man. You are an inspiration but every time I read a post from you I fear you’re spiking your blood pressure or even cortisol level! lol jk thanks for the tire iron smack in the face back to reality.
He’s not really angry saying it. It’s just his avatar.

Not just that, when people are asking questions that have been solidly answered for several years now and should be common knowledge, what type of response do they expect?
I mean, we still have guys in 2010 acting like pull overs literally expand your rib cage…like this is still 1960 or as if Arnold is a biology teacher.

I usually picture Ben Stein.
The length of the “biceps gap” is 100% genetic and there is absolutely nothing you can do to shorten it. /thread

lol…quire
I have something to add to this conversation. When I started this thing… i was ripped… because I was 126 lb at 5’10. I didn’t do any work for it. I had a great peak and very skinny biceps. Couple inch gap. arms were like 12 inches. I know you can’t do anything about your genetic muscle shape.
But I feel like I have added mostly thickness to my bis since then in comparison to my peak. It’s a given that I’m not at the same bodyfat percentage as I was then but some exercises must work the peak more than others. My lower biceps definitely improved from preachers for example.
People argue that when you contract a muscle every fiber contracts but i beleive its the tension of the excercise on certain parts of the muscle that leads to growth. Experts will say that the butterfly machine will target the whole pec and not your inner pec but i can tell you from experience that my inner pecs will look much better if I have been doing them.

I said that jokingly. Pronating your wrist doesn’t actually make the bicepital tendon shorter, it just makes the muscle appear longer because it stays relaxed in that position (many people don’t realize that the primary function of the bicep is to supinate the wrist). Your “flexed” arm won’t look very impressive if you don’t contract the muscle, though.

The sad part is he didn’t know that and apparently thought all of those posts by people bigger than him didn’t know what they were talking about.
LOL. The proof that Albert Beckles(Whom we constantly refer to when we are asked this question) can win the Mr. Universe title and have a huge gap, proves that you just have to have big biceps to win, insertion doesnt matter.
high lats on the other hand…

I was just agreeing that it closes the gap. I know it’s not actually changing the tendon length, it’s just relaxing the bicep

OK.
Man I have some decent biceps but I have no gap between my bicep and forearm, you can always see my tendon no matter how pronated my wrist is… should I just work on getting my peak bigger?
How much can you squat?
No.
Did you even read the thread? It looks like you didn’t so I’ll summarize.
Everybody agrees that genetics really don’t matter. There are many exercises to increase the biceps peak. I know a guy whose dad used to have bicep problems, but then he did 21 strict Arnold spider preacher reverse curls, at a 62.5% extension for 20 seconds, and it fixed his problem, because he’s smarter than genetics.
Give it a try!!!
Hey now, he’s only had six years to read it. That’s not exactly a fair expectation, is it?

You should probably work on getting your arm measurement bigger by gaining muscular bodyweight. I’m scared to ask, but what’s your current height, weight, and general fat level?
Unless you’re a competitive bodybuilder - which is the only type of person on the face of the earth who’s ever going to actually need to display their arm in a way that shows people the presence/lack of a biceps gap) - you really don’t need to be giving this topic a second thought.
Awww you’re too nice. I liked my advice better.
I have to say, I’m really enjoying the resurrection of these topics. So many old posters that we haven’t seen in years in this one. X, bonez, h4m, bugeisha, austinbicep, sentoguy, westclock, bwhitwell, the other C_C. So many great posters!!
I have a degree. Did genetics get a degree? NO! Genetics is stoopid hurhurhur.
Lol, I’ve actually enjoyed having some older threads pop up on my feed. While some were just complete sh-t storms at the time, now they’re pure entertainment.

Odd that I started seeing all this stuff start showing up in my in-box. Hate to say it, but I bailed on this site when they changed their forums and forced users to use FaceBook. I’m not a fan of the new forums/navigation and despise FaceBook with a passion, so I now frequent another popular site on lifting.
But yes, great memories and some great posts/posters. Heck I even remember when X was invited down to T-Nation with Thibs.
Glad to see you’re still lifting Stu - you were a great inspiration on the site.
