Best Way to Use Intensity Techniques

For my shoulders I have been pre exhausting machine laterals with presses. If the goal is to stimulate the lateral head of the deltoid as much as possible, which of the two options below would be best abs what is your reason.

  1. Lateral machine to failure. Then rest pause or breakdowns then machine press to failure or
  2. Lateral machine to failure Then machine press to failure followed by rest pause or breakdowns.

Either will work. The key is to use those techniques sparingly.

If your going to use 30/10/30 that should be enough on it own with out the extra intensity techniques.

Just use your ideas a few times then take a break from it. The shoulder muscles are very easy to over train.
