Best Site for Exercise Equipment?

Lately I’ve been thinking about the possibility of saving up for a home gym. Nothing fancy, just a power rack, a barbell, and a bunch of olympic plates. I already have one barbell and a couple of adjustable DBs.

What site do you feel is the best for ordering exercise equipment?

A powerrack is the core of everything and will probably last a lifetime - or longer. It is worth getting a good one. If you have the space etc…

If you don’t have the money you could probably make do with a cheaper one though.

Thanks for the correction.

Local gyms and auction houses will sell off old/used equipment. I’ve seen plates being sold off by lots of 1000 - 2000 lbs. Ivanko Bars being sold by the dozens. All dirt cheap.

What you don’t want can be given away or taken to a recycling facility, or better yet turned in to GPP fun.

Thanks everybody.

This is the only place I’ve been able to find standard plates over 10lbs (They carry 25lb standards that you can buy individually) without having to order sets of plates. Not sure about the rest of the site, seems to have pretty limited selection looking at the bars and weights, may be worth a look though.

Seconded, except I think it’s “.org”. I got a lot of great stuff there and on ebay.

Yes, just about everything in my home gym is from craigslist and ebay. Pics are in my profile - squat rack, adj bench and weights for $200, t-bar row and seated calf raise for $25, chin/dip power tower for $40, stepper for free (I fixed it), back ext bench $40, treadmill $400, etc.

You can search ebay by proximity to your zip code so you can find the local “pick up only” stuff in the exercise equipment section.

I have almost perfected a way to do GHR’s on my decline ab bench and oval inflatable ball, I just need one more little tweak and I think I’ll have it down. (I’ll post it once I do)

I got my flooring mats at BJ’s for not a lot of $$.

If you can be patient and persistent, there are great deals to be found.

I have been lax in my hunting lately, but I’d love to pick up a full db set. I’m going to get my husband to weld me a box for box squats and step ups, too.
