Best Powerlifting Program Ever?

Idk if I agree that 531 progresses too slow for beginners. Just because the weights you’re actually lifting during the workouts are progressing slowly doesn’t mean that the weights that you’re actually capable of lifting aren’t progressing faster. My squat has gone up almost 40 lbs in a little over 2 months and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Granted Ive been focusing on it and made it a priority, and my other lifts haven’t increased by nearly as much, but if you cycle between which excercises you emphasize and add a lot of weight to while your others are still climbing then you’re definitely doing something right.

Plus it engravings very valuable principles into the beginners that a lot of rookies don’t understand.

  • you don’t have to lift at maximal weights all the time
  • you don’t have to kill yourself with a bunch of extra shit. Focus on the basics. Less is more.

I’d rather make constant, year round progress than have to stagnate and reset

Broscience at its best.

Bingo. People that say 5/3/1 “progresses too slow for beginners” do not really understand how 5/3/1 works.
