Oh and to the OP: If you liked Berserk, check out Gungrave. It’s like Berserk but with guns and its own style.
I think they are totally different styles of Anime, but I can see how in some ways they would be similar. That being said. Gungrave is one of my favorite anime series OF ALL TIME, Just for the story alone and the interaction and back story of the two main characters. The ending was so powerful I actually felt it in my gut. Excellent Anime.
That’s why I said it had its own style…The characters are very similar though, Brandon the strong silent type (just like Guts), Harry the ambitious charismatic type (just like Griffith). Their relationships are very similar and even the story is similar as well. I actually heard somewhere that the entire show was a tribute to Berserk, although I don’t know how true that is, but I could believe it. Agreed about the ending, it was fantastic.
To me, Berserk is far superior, but Gungrave is still my second favorite.

Beserk has a big place in my heart but the ending of the Anime pissed me off. I know it continued in the Manga but damn. Gungrave had a more fitting finality to its ending.

When I first watched it, I was actually downloading each episode individually…when I went to get “episode 26”, it was nowhere to be found. After that, I learned the horrible truth. I actually loved the ending despite that fact. I mean, Berserk is still going on at 35 volumes, just insane…The good news is now it looks like they may be redoing/adding to it, whatever I don’t care, I’m pumped.
Yu Yu Hakusho is an absolute amazing anime series. I bought all four seasons over the summer and i couldnt stop watching. Definitely something to condider buying if you like uncensored raw fights and none of that dragged out fight scenes that dragonballz had (although i do love dragonballz)
I love and own Beserk, Kenshin (just the OAVs), Gundam Wing, Gundam MS 08, and Hellsing. I’ve been watching Naruto on hulu and I’m on either episode 170 or 180 of shippuden. I really like it even though it’s got a lot of the traditional silly anime stuff that I usually hate like: sweat bead, farts, eyes closed while talking, etc.
ok i dont really watch anime, read alot of manga instead. but since anime is from manga, ill just throw in my favourite here. the best has seriously got to be one piece and berserk. the best manga/anime possible.
and trust me, i read alot of manga.
i.e onepiece,bleach,naruto,slamdunk,eyeshield,hajime no ippo,prince of tennis,death note,liar game,grapler baki,hellsing,1/2 prince,kekkashi,bakuman,katekyo hitman reborn,fairy tail,full metal alchemist,hunter X hunter,historys strongest disciple,high school of the dead just to name a few.
and while most are good. the best still has to be one piece and berserk. pure awesomeness.
QQ. ive read all the manga out for berserk *awesome) but havent watched any of the anime. is the anime worth watching if i already know whats goin down??
yu yu hakusho was awesome up until the end of the demon tournament (never watched past that)
also, i was always a fan of kenshin and trigun. thanks for the new anime material to watch now though

I know very little about anime, however I watched one late night approx. seven years ago and loved it but I have no idea who made it and would like some help in finding it please.
I apologize in advance if my description of the movie is incomplete: The story involved a “bad” creature living in a forest kidnapping folks. The “good” guy was hired to find him and rescue a women from this bad ass creature. The fight scenes were incredible and one of the combatants had these cool round spinning weapons, picture a small saw blade that could go through whole trees. There were some soft porn scenes as well. It didn’t have a DBZ feel to it at all and the characters didn’t have big hairdos lol.
Thats all I got to go on, I would search myself on youtube but I wouldn’t know where to start and it could take forever.
