Bench Press Technique

I swopped out flat benching for seated press for about a month. I continued doing incline.

I then went back to regular flat bench but for some reason I can’t get my body position right.

I feel like I am “falling over backwards” if that makes sense. Has anybody else experienced this? What am I doing wrong?

Dave Tate has an article in the archives about benching 600 lbs and describes the proper form for maximum power output.

Keep your head, shoulders & butt on the bench. A slight arch (if any) is good. Keep feet planted firm on the floor. Try to “bend the bar” this will keep your elbows where they should be. Slow down, explode up. Good luck!

I had to train chest again yesterday. And everything just felt 100% fine on my flat bench again.
