Bench Press Grip: Slightly Wider Feels Easier?



i just have a short question regarding the grip width in the bench press.
During a maximal press e.g 95% + my grip gets automatically tighter and my sticking point is in mid range. When I grip 1 cm wider(or a finger or 2) with lighter weight e.g 80% i get the feeling like i can press it very easy through the lowest and mid point. Is this because of pecs activity?

It probably has more to do with it just being a lighter weight so its harder to determine your sticking point. I wouldnt think such a small adjustment in grip would be a huge difference maker
