I’m using a BCAA supplement that calls for me to use 6 scoops (34.5g of BCAA’s) based on my bodyweight. I take 23g prior to and during my workout, and then 11.5g immediately after. What I was wondering is with this amount of BCAA’s should I also be supplementing with protein post-workout? Thanks.

According to the latest research by Tipton et al. BCAA only has an anabolic effect in older males vs protein containing all essential amino acids. If you are under 40, you will be better served by consuming a protein containing all essential amino acids such as whey or casein during the day and consuming the hydrolysate versions of casein and whey immediately after workout.
