Hey Jim. After reading a post on your blog that was about a bastardized version of 531 (warming up to the top set and then working backwards) I was wondering how you yourself would apply either FSL or jokers to this layout (or would you at all)?
If you work backwards you have essentially eliminated the need for FSL work. Also, Jim has stated lately that jokers should only be done once every 6 weeks. That’s not a blanket statement for every single lifter out there, but in general, people use them too often.
I would also add that FSL is better than working backwards.
Just do the up/down ladder
That program on my website was done by someone else - I haven’t done it so I don’t know the answer. Your best bet is to use common sense and your experience to be your guide.
