Barbell and Dumbbell Same Day a Waste?


I've been reading through peoples' routines and especially Chad Waterbury's programs and have found that very few people do a barbell lift and the dumbbell variation in the same day. I do dumbbell bench and regular flat bench on the same day, but I also hit the chest twice every eight days- would I be better off constructing 2 separate routines and alternating between them, with one focusing on dumbbells and one on barbells?


why don't you just follow a CW programme for awhile, like ABHP and switch the DB for BB sometimes and see how it goes within the guidelines of a great well-thought out programme?
