Bald Eagle Status

Our national symbol, the bald eagle, will soon be taken off the endangered species list. The fact that it was down to 500 pairs in 1967 and is now near 9800 pairs is a testament to conservation efforts.

The thought that people may consider it time to start hunting and killing this bird is disturbing. Sure, the Bald Eagle Protection Act is in place, but will that cause hunters to stop?
