I am hanging out with my favorite guy for a while today. We went on a long walk that was sort of a fartlek walk/sprint. I will probably be sore tomorrow. We ended up sprinting/running for a total of twelve minutes during the entire walk. We also made it to the hill that I usually sprint, and he started breathing weirdly after the second half-sprint uphill, so I decided to be cautious there. It’s good for him though!

Hoping that he is tired for the rest of the evening so I can try to be productive. And tired for his owner when they pick him up later.

I am so beat up from romping around with the puppy on Saturday. My legs and lower back are very sore. I can also feel a knot in my upper back developing, which indicates that I could use a deload. I’m a bit torn because I could use a lighter week in my life right now to focus on my bigger priority outside of work right now, yet my performance remains decent. I will see how the rest of the week goes.

Not a great session. I am pleased with the SA KB presses though because this is the first time pressing 14kg for volume.

I am leaning toward deloading next week. But I will probably squeeze something in this weekend even though my dad is coming to visit.

Haha, something like that. We only see each other 1-2 times per year, so it should be interesting.

Good luck!

It’s been an awkward day, but we went to my favorite taco place.

A perfectly packaged WOD. We’ll name it the Bagsy. Lol.

Hopefully just a little awkward, and no door-slamming. Lol if i spent the day with my dad i guarantee that would be awkward! Probably true for the majority!

Maybe I’m lucky, but I’ve always had a great relationship with my dad.

Haha, there’s no tension thankfully. Still, we’re so different that we can’t really talk about anything. However, a couple years ago I cut contact with my mother for very good reason. :sunglasses:

Did some Deep Water squats for “fun.” And I was able to fit into the next hole on my belt, so that was cool. I’m going to take this week off.

I was planning to give myself a full week off, but I decided to jump back into things today. Although I can still feel the knot in my upper back creeping up on me, the few days of recovery definitely helped. Bench went pretty well given the circumstances. I am curious to know what my bench will be like when I am not losing weight.

I may experiment with two days on followed by two days off in later weeks to support not only recovery a bit more but also my endeavor outside of the gym that is approaching crunch time. I am mentally pretty tired right now, yet I think I feel worse if I don’t train even if my body welcomes the break.

A smorgasbord of cardio with this dude:

He first trudged for almost a whole mile without stopping… had to stop briefly halfway. Then we ran 800m at 7:00/mile pace, so not too shabby. Followed that up with three hill sprints – my superior fitness really shines here because these wind him so much – before another 800m on the way home with a few more sprints sprinkled in. Safe to say that he’s knackered (for now), and my legs and core will be pretty sore tomorrow.

To top it off I am going to a very small show tonight, so it’s turning out to be an awesome Saturday.
