Hamilton’s Curse?

Being against the bailout is like being against the viability of our economy in both the short and longterm. it’s cute to say because it means you stay true to your values, but the amount of financial capital tied up in those firms is mind boggling.
So?

It is not like its gone when they go bankrupt, it will just belong to someone else.

Also, technically those finacial firms hold very little capital and a lot of money which is not quite the same.

Hamilton’s Curse?

Oh there’s no doubt he was a proponent of a strong centralist federal power. I’m glad many of his designs were defeated or rather delayed, I guess you could say. But I am not familiar with any purported ideas of his associated with government takeover and manipulation of private financial institutions.
cant have one withoput the other.

Those are the inevitable consequences of a central bank.

Thats what matters, right? We are talking about socialism in medicine, not socialism in food regulation or socialism in energy.

and btw , the US postal service just doesnt feel like Socialism to me.
They dont force me to mail letters. :)
Ahh, the USPS. They are losing money hand-over-fist. They subcontract work to other carriers because they can’t meet the demand due to rules and regulations on employees. Do they cut spending? Do they let people go? Do they offer special sales? No, the US Postal Service is going to stop delivering mail on Saturdays to save money. Do you think McDonalds would stop seling hamburgers once a week because it wasn’t making money?

A private sector company, like FedEx, would lower prices, cut some jobs, and offer specials. If that didn’t work, it would go out of business. Unless of course, they have a powerful Washngton DC Lobby, and then they’d get a bailout.

I’m a libertarian and I am against bailouts, the wars, and most importanly, this healthcare “fiscal Frankenstein”.
