3 2 minute rounds, 1 3 minute round of continuous straight punches, thrown for volume. Got to 400 on my 3 minute round before I lost count, but was pretty close to the end of the time. This is a wonderful way to feel completely pathetic and weak, as keeping my arms up takes a silly amount of will power.

It is 90 degrees inside the gym. I leave puddles all around the mat, making footwork difficult.

Impromptu week off due to vehicle having a cataclysmic failure on the freeway, and figuring out what to do from there. I’m fortunate to be in a situation with potential unlimited overtime, so I’ve been working 14-16 hour days for the past bit.

Considered and tried a couple sets of benching. It felt horrible. Stiff and unstable. It was 88 degrees in the gym, and the bench felt like a slip’n’slide. Abandoned bench. Did 4 sets of 8 chins with +25 lbs during warm up bench sets

Bag work
1-10-1’s
Pick a punch, throw it once, then twice, then three times, etc. Until 10 is reached, then back down incrementally to one. Nicely comes out to 100 total. I didn’t go past tripling up on a punch, but would continue throwing until number was reached. Rested as needed between sections, nothing over 5ish seconds. All thrown as hard as possible, reseting as needed to assure better rotation. Did this for a jab, straight, lead hook to head, rear hook to head, lead hook to body, rear hook to body, lead uppercut, and rear uppercut. Wore 12 oz gloves in an attempt to maintain less compressed padding for my primary sparring gloves. Seemed too light for this type of of heavy volume. Knuckles, hands, and wrists are a bit tender.

Boxing class, 1 hr

Boxed a 45 minute round. Started at the end of class, a young lady asked me to spar. I was a bit late to class, and a yoga class was going on. I didn’t want to bother yoga, so I told her that she could determine the round length (by feel, therr is a loud wall mounted timer but I thought its blaring would interrupt the soothing water soundtrack) since I was a bit late to class and she had done more work. 45 minutes later, I pulled the plug. She’s either more stubborn than I am about not quitting, or she’s too shy for her own good.

Two three minute boxing rounds with amateur MMA fighter, three three minute boxing rounds with professional 2 belt (different feds, same weight class) champion MMA fighter. The latter enjoys pushing the pace, especially (I think anyway) because I’m a few inches taller and a weight class heavier.
